SUCCESS Lab

SUCCESS Lab

Texas A&M University College of Engineering

Welcome to SUCCESS Lab

SUCCESS Lab is directed by Dr. Guofei Gu in the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Texas A&M University. Our group is engaged in cutting-edge research in all aspects of network and systems security. To solve practical security problems, we use networking and system techniques, as well as program analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, applied cryptography, probability/statistics, information theory, etc.

Our mission is to make networking and computing more secure!

At SUCCESS Lab, we are pioneering the future of cybersecurity by making security programmable,  intelligent, and ubiquitous.

Our work is driven by the understanding that our world is increasingly reliant on complex, interconnected systems, from core internet infrastructure to the rapidly expanding edge. The lab focuses on creating programmable, intelligent, and ubiquitous security solutions that can keep pace with this evolution. We are pioneers in the field of Software-defined Programmable Security (SPS), developing programmable and automated defenses for next-generation networks and systems. Furthermore, we leverage the power of AI and machine learning to enhance threat detection and response while also addressing the security and privacy implications of these powerful technologies. Finally, we extend our expertise to securing the full spectrum of the digital landscape, including web applications, mobile devices, IoT, and the emerging Web3 ecosystems.

Our current research interests include: (see some details and example projects here)

  • Programmable Security
    • Software-defined next-generation networks and systems (e.g., SDN, NFV, Cloud, Edge, 5G, …)
  • Intelligent Security
    • AI for Cybersecurity
    • Security for AI
  • Ubiquitous Security
    • Emerging technologies (e.g., Mobile, IoT, Web, and Web3)
